Spending 460 on a belt buckle is pretty fuckin insane, but remember, im not the one who did it. I said Id do it for 100 bucks less, but 460 is just too much. I aint gonna get it. Ive spent alot more on travelling and seeing the Beastie Boys 15 times in 11 diff cities across the world...
guess what, 360 bucks is just as retarded! and b-boys are way too over the hill for you to be following them around like they are radiohead.
ive seen daft 6 times, soon to be 7 in 6 (7) differnt cities in 4 countries on 3 continents. now thats devotion
you are both kids, thats why you both obsess over things you shouldnt be.
part of me is just jealous cuz i wish i had the money that you spoiled brats have to throw around. ;)

fun shows...not really having the fight the audience off and watch out the entire time...freedom to jump up and down and just party?
Daft Punk at Red Rocks.

The only way I will see a band more than once or twice on the same tour is if they change their setlist. That's why you can never go wrong following Radiohead around because they change their setlists every night.

He couldnt see them at the right time, since he is a kid ya know? Making up for lost time has its plusss and minusses. Minus being the really really really good stuff doesnt get played anymore. And he was in junior high when they headlined coachella, which I did attend and I enjoyed their set, but the Hello Nasty tour in the round was good one. Too bad they would never do that again.
Sure you only live once, and thats something I have been saying for a while on here actually. And throwing the money around is supposed to get you insane cred points right? But look at how I do it though, I want to see EVERYONE, not just one band. Yes I put time aside to see a certain act multiple times, but after that its back to the usual after. Hopefully I ge to catch Radiohead 10 times next year, that would make me happy enough. anyway

totally...you went to Tokyo and Istanbul and saw Daft Punk? Thats crazy as fuck. I flew all the way to europe for 6 days and saw the Beasties twice... Daft Punk in Chicago was a fuckin amazing show...Prob one of the most fun shows ive ever seen, along with Rage at Coachella....you know what i mean? fun shows...not really having the fight the audience off and watch out the entire time...freedom to jump up and down and just party? Beastie Boys in NYC was the same...
daft in chicago was easily the best show ive seen them do and im pretty sure will be the best (unless they add stuff for this final leg) and yeah rage was crazy fun but i was definately fighting for my life in there
you are both kids, thats why you both obsess over things you shouldnt be.
part of me is just jealous cuz i wish i had the money that you spoiled brats have to throw around. ;)
to be honest most of it has been circumstance for me. coachella i was there for the festival obviously, madrid and istanbul i just happened to be in europe at the time. chicago i was on a family vacation. i live in seattle and tokyo was a thing where me and wyatt (signmeup) went cuz his mom is a flight attendant and got us an awesome fare, like 300 bucks or something and knew one of hte bands so we got in for free. plus this next trip to vegas isnt too steep and ive been working a ton so i felt like i owe it myself as a reward :)
speaking of which DAFT TOMORROW. ok im done polluting the justice thread

A speaker of truths. I'm kinda worried about how unexcited I am to be seeing Daft Punk at Vegoose tomorrow after only seeing them at Coachella and in LA.

Its true, where Im at in life right now, I work and I have freedom to spend my money on whatever I want, I dont have too many expenses, so most of my paychecks go towards concerts, travelling and such... So this year ive done Coachella, Sasquatch, Paris, Hurricane Festival in Germany, Los Angeles daft punk, Lollapalooza, 3 weeks in LA, saw the beasties 6 times in 7 days and other shows, and trying to do concerts on nearly every one of my days off. Its been a good year... Its just part of life...im able to enjoy it now, I have no clue how much longer this could last...

no it is because everything is much cheaper. Businesses in Canada are still quoting the higher prices that they normally would even though the American dollar is worth about 3 cents less then the Canadian. Canadians don't hate us, they just hate that fact that we are much bigger and we like to throw out weight around....

Arcademode takes a while, plus they just reopened after moving so its probably a little hectic over there.
Sixpack should take 2-3 weeks if I remember correctly. I dont think the tracking ever worked very well fro me either. but both places should let you know when your orders have shipped.

I was just watching tv and the new Telus ad has Phantom Pt II alllll over it. How did they manage to get that song for a canadian phone company ad? That being said, Telus have the most succesful ads out there, as they are very simplistic and the audience recognizes its Telus immediatly with their signature white background and vibrant colours...

Your comment about artists making electro that's popular is fucking laughable and proves you don't know dick about electronica. I know of tons of electronic music that is extremely popular and has actual substance. Just this past weekend I saw Deadmau5 and Tiefschwarz, both incredibly popular right now and infinitely more interesting than Justice. I was actually a fan of Justice before I realized they only had one song.

I know Tiefschwarz, but have never heard Deadmau5. In all fairness though, their popularity is nothing compared to Justice's. I am not saying Justice are better, or somehow have earned it more. I am just stating that Justice is definately muxh more popular than Tiefschwarz.
Just curious, which Justice song did you like before you found out you hated them?

I have no idea what you mean by "in all fairness, their popularity is nothing compared to Justice's". If you admit that popularity doesn't equate to talent then what's the point of that statement? All the douche said was I wasn't capable of believing that good electro could be popular electro. It's just not true. And besides, Justice's relative popularity is arguable. Who gives a shit what the moptop hipster teens in LA shovel down their gullets. This country knows shamefully little about electronic music. Go to England or Germany and find out which is more popular. What about Richie Hawtin? He's a god in Europe and extremely popular here too. He's popular but and his music is good. I could go on and on. The dipshit is just wrong. Not all popular electronic musicians make bad music or have as huge a backlash. Deadmau5 exploded this year. If you've been paying attention or have been to a decent techno show in the last year you've heard his music. Even fucking Tiesto plays his shit all the time. He's all over the top of the DJ charts and top download lists whereas Justice is almost nowhere to be found on those lists.
Justice is party rock. It's great for a brief moment, but it quickly loses novelty and then it's worthless. After We Are Your Friends they just kept doing the same shit, maybe in a different key at best. If you think they've mixed it up since then you're reaching. When they were decent they were playing mostly other people's stuff. If they keep that up they've got some legs.

k then. As long as you've got an open mind you are bound to quickly find much better music out there. And don't assume that because people aren't as popular or are content to put out the same song every month that they're not capable of it. I don't really consider two names as big as Villalobos as Radio Slave to be "name drops" (except to posters on this board), but then I only used the term because he did. I'm not even trying to hate on you, so I'm a little confused as to why that one sentence is even an issue.

That beethoven sampled thing at the beginning was a tad clever but I don't think it's theirs. The end is pretty much "classic" justice. It sounds dated already.

I was actually a fan of Justice before I realized they only had one song.
i gotta agree. justice's popularity has much more to do with their goofy, immature fan base than their talent.
justice does have some good tracks, but they are pretty formulaic and get old fast.
I gotta agree w/ the above posts. I enjoy Justice, and got the fuck down at coachella during their set. They are cool for what they are. I do think they take themselves a bit too serious though. Trying to be aloof and whatnot in interviews. It's fucking dance music yo, it's suppose to be fun. I dont take any of it seriously. I really do think that it's a kid/immature thing to swing on any artist's nuts. New Kids much? I think once your balls drop you get over the artists jocking bizness.
large sums of money? I wish. Still probably enough to buy and sell some a couple of these assplugs.
You sell assplugs? link? Kidding, but are you willing to say what name you perform under? I have been in SF a lot lately and would like to check it out.

I spin Tuesdays at from 11am-3pm at the Crazy Horse gentlemen's club on Market. I get paid in mozarella sticks. I mainly go by Big Daddy Anal Fissures.
Seriously though, I have fun on this board and would rather not take even the small risk of sullying my friend's and promoter's rep even if only on the coachella message board. I sometimes post event info on here via other board members. If you really are in town I'll get you some info.

Totally understand. I've been on the promoter end of things and it does get sticky having/expressing an opinion about things and still trying to be professional and inclusive.

Was their 07 set a "live" set? That's all I've ever seen em do. I hope there is no Ed Banger this year. Bring in more minimalism, and maybe some Sasha & Digweed, and a little house. Forget the overrated stuff (though I guess we gotta have some of it).

yes it was live. but it was live in the same sense that the first daft set was live. pretty much set up to run with very few tweaks if i remember correctly. they have of course since kciked it up a notch. but half the people in here couldnt give a shit anyway

Yup, their first live public performance. Its strange to me that you are asking for minimalism and Sasha & Dickweed in the same sentence.

that would make more sense, because there is no reason for her to basically reveal a band in the lineup.
If any Ed Banger shows up, it will be Seb & Kav. But i could do without em.
