Mmm, yeah, it is extremely racist. If somebody's a douchebag, just call them that, no need to drop the n-word. I thought this became faux pas 30 years ago, just like calling someone a faggot or saying something's gay as an insult became such 10 years ago.

This is good news. When good music gets exposure on MTV its a good thing.

altough im not a fan of mtv(Gotta admit im hooked on gay ass sweet 16 reruns) this can only be a good thing for justice, and its glad to see something other then beyonce and fall ouyt boy nominated

sure great for Justice...... at first.

They'll be getting huge exposure and getting paid lots of money (more than most electronic acts at least), but the larger your exposure, the lower your common denominator. There's more pressure to churn out the same boring crap or even do ridiculous collaborations with other pop acts. *coughoakenfoldcough*

MTV will chew them up and spit them out just like they do everyone else.
Just hope Justice doesn't give a fuck about their new fanbase.

Preach it!!

And I wanna know what MTV is going to do to get them to ''perform'' at the awards show. Also the one cool thing about this year is that its at The Pearl Theatre in Vegas. Another thing is that The Palms is closing off certain suites in the hotel to allow performances by other artists not connected to the broadcast, if I read the article on this correctly.

jackstraw94086

Y'all may as well let it rest. Their nomination isn't a mystery. This is simply MTV responding to the indie horde cramming all things Justice up their asses. MTV is not oblivious to trends. This is a small and feeble attempt to try and draw some of you people back into the fold. They stick Justice in there so you people will pay attention to them again. The best thing to do is probably ignore it and show MTV that you can't be bought so easily.

I woke up early this morning because of a dream. I was somewhere in Canada by myself with 2 Justice tickets in my pocket. The concert was somewhere outside but you had to enter through a theatre. It was absolutely packed. I got tired of waiting in line and decided to go home. I was walking along the side of a street and seen another small entrance. The door was half wood and half yellow glass (like a country inn). I walked in and a man at the counter asked/stated "you are press yes?" I nodded my head. He put a press pass around my neck, gave me a bunch of 1 dollar bills and like 2 dollars in dimes. He motioned his arm for me to enter. I walked out of the room and outside to a park area. Justice was sitting on a directors chair with 2 big lights on him about 40 feet away. There all these press people around him asking questions and taking his picture. That was it.

Pitchfork review of Justice live at the Oya festival in Norway

I've been warned that the Justice show will essentially be an outdoor rave, and sure enough, the most visually stimulating part of their performance is Xavier de Rosnay's Olivia Newton-John t-shirt. It's essentially two guys standing behind a black table flipping through CDs, which is the first common observation/criticism about electronic acts at festivals. The second is that the show would be better suited to a smoky club at 2 am. I can neither argue with those assertions nor with the overheard remark that they're no Daft Punk.

Nevertheless, de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé work diligently to overcome these limitations, blasting the audience with a continuous volley of bass. They indulge slow fades and triumphant crescendos, and there's a sly wit to the way they tease the audience with snippets of "D.A.N.C.E." long before they actually play the song. The nearly all-female audience responds by singing along when they can. Well, just on "We Are Your Friends", but still. The only egregious element is the heavy-metal riffage on the final song-- showy elements in an unshowy show.

Yeah, I asked Gaspard how to pronounce it when I was hanging with them for those few minutes haha I was like "I don't wanna sound like an ass anymore when referring to you guys" and he said it was like "Woooooa. Cool."

I didnt know he spoke.

And when/where/how did you meet them? I must know.

It was out on the sidewalk after the show. He was there with Xavier, Sebastian, Kavinsky, Busy P, and a few other people they were partying with and I just went up to him.

When Busy P handed me the Justice shirt he was like "do you think it would fit?" Gaspard looked at me and the shirt and he said "yes it would fit."

The dude gets paid to write that kind of review, so he does it in the true ''pitchfork'' style.

I don't understand. what kind of review did he write?

On a side note, seems a lot of people on this board are not down with pitchfork. Is there a different music news site I should be checking up on?

I hope this isnt true... 1/2 the amazing thing about Justice other than the music was that they were on this fuckin amazing record label Ed Banger Records created and ran by Busy P. If they are just another act on another pointless label, that fuckin blows... Oh, grow up. Signing with a major label =/= automatic suck.

Justice are already ridiculously fucking huge. They might as well move on to a major label and at least earn a shitload more money.

I know a ton of people in LA that bought tickets to their show here and only really know them for "D.A.N.C.E.," or even worse, are only going because it's the hip thing to do. Does that tell you enough about how famous Justice are already?

justice are not ridiculously fucking huge. they are getting there.

and of course signing with a major label does not automatically mean they will suck. but it's something that could very well happen.

you obviously underestimate the influence that major labels have on acts they sign. i think you need to grow up.

Porn

He's too much of a cock sucking faggot to watch it. He gets jealous when he watches porn so he goes off to West Hollywood looking for a dick to suck to fill himself with his daily semen intake.

listen here you little bitch. if you think they left ed banger for some reason OTHER than money, you are a stupid, naive, ignorant mother fucker.

and read your post again moron. you said if they left, you'll never listen to them again. you're full of shit. go fuck yourself.

Only a fucking moronic piece of shit like you wouldn't know that I was referring to the money after I did that second post you quoted. But I can expect shit like that from the likes of your dumbass.

Yes they are. You seem to think that Justice are still some underground little band that only you and a few diehards on the internet appreciate. Newsflash: they were hyped as shit last year and now they are the hottest group of 07.

Worst case scenario, Universal is going to ask them for more songs like "D.A.N.C.E." and they'll make more Pop music. This hasn't even been confirmed yet, though, so we're all probably getting worked up for nothing.

That's what I was thinking would happen.

Yeah Daft always hits us with something new.

Bullshit! It's the same filtered disco sample loops it has ALWAYS been. The live show has been the exact fucking same since the Coachella gig in April of 06. All the little DP bitches can go ahead and say, "but the encore" "but they added this synth bit for this certain gig" - its the fucking same and you know this.

As far Justice: They are NOT fucking huge. They are big and gaining momentum, but NOT fucking huge. Ask they average person on the street if they know Justice, then ask if they know Daft Punk, then ask if they know Christina Aguillera. Does anyone have access to Soundscan #s ? How many albums have been sold? As far as Justice selling out. Fucking-A right they did. Just like your precious Daft has and every fucking one else who is actually HUGE. There is ZERO shame in going for the $$$. Busy P knows this. If he could get them the kind of scratch a major label can, I'm sure he would. Anyone who calls bullshit should ask themselves if they would turn down a job at a new co. for a chance at serious dough. This can all be done while keeping ones credibility in tact. Might the music suffer? Absolutely, but that is going to be up to them and is yet to be seen.

and PS:

I met a boy wearing Vans, 501s, and a
Dope Beastie t, nipple rings, and
New tattoos that claimed that he
Was OGT,
From '92,
The first EP.

And in between
Sips of Coke
He told me that
He thought
We were sellin' out,
Layin' down,
Suckin' up
To the man.

Well now I've got some
A-dvice for you, little buddy.
Before you point the finger
You should know that
I'm the man,

And if I'm the man,

Then you're the man, and
He's the man as well so you can
Point that fuckin' finger up your ass.

All you know about me is what I've sold you,
Dumb fuck.
I sold out long before you ever heard my name.

I sold my soul to make a record,
Dip shit,
And you bought one.

So I've got some
Advice for you, little buddy.
Before you point your finger
You should know that
I'm the man,

If I'm the fuckin' man
Then you're the fuckin' man as well
So you can
Point that fuckin' finger up your ass.

All you know about me is what I've sold you,
Dumb fuck.

I sold my soul to make a record,
Dip shit,
And you bought one.

All you read and
Wear or see and
Hear on TV
Is a product
Begging for your
Fatass dirty
Dollar

So...Shut up and

Buy my new record
Send more money
Fuck you, buddy.
