I wonder if the Monday show will sell out.

I'd rather just buy tickets the night of at the door.

Otherwise, Detour and the Tuesday show are enough for me.

wow, i just bought some tickets to the new Justice date. i've never been raped so hard by Ticketmaster before.

if you were to buy just one ticket, the $23 ticket will end up costing you $40.50.

Convenience charge = $8
Order Processing Fee = $5
Ticketfast = $2.50
Building Facility Fee = $2

TOTAL ADDITIONAL CHARGES = $17.50

That's a 76% markup!!!! That's fucking insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha i was just thinking the same thing I really hope we get a decent alternative to Ticketbastard soon. Ticketweb is good but they need to expand alot if they want to compete

Yes they are, they wont infringe on keeping fees high on there either, its just another piece of the pie they own and they can make their money by getting all of the revenue from venues Ticketweb sells for.

Ok, lots of things wrong here. Why are you paying the 2.50 for ticketfast? do you have a problem with going to the venue and picking up your tickets? Its not like thats an inconvinience since you are going by the box office on your way in. Also, you couldve avoided the $5 processing by going to an outlet. If you couldnt do that due to work or not having a place close thats understandable. But in the end, you can control how much you get raped by TM by not giving into certain things ok? so in theory, if you did it my way, you wouldve saved $7.50 so it wouldve only been a 40% markup which isnt insanely horrid these days.

It only takes like a few minutes to make a pdf file specific with your name and ticket info on it, but they figured out the way customers are, they like things right away, so they coudl charge you. People dont care for the extra 2.50 because you get your ticket in like a minute of printing time. They save $$ on paper and shipping and make lots of money just for this convinience. I wish they never thought of ticketfast, it is another thing that dlutes the beauty that is a concert ticket.

The added night of justice WILL SELL OUT. Dont lag on getting them.

there's not a realistic alternative. if we want to see the shows, we have to pay the fees. unless we start boycotting all their favorite shows & sports events, we don't have any choice.

Well think about this way smart guy: would you pay $41 for a concert ticket with no fees? What if the fees were hidden and you just never saw the fees? All you saw was a flat ticket price that had fees already incorporated into the price. If that was the case you would shut the fuck up and just pay the $41 like you do anyways.

no. I'd see $40 for a band that isn't worth $40, and I wouldn't buy tickets.

there was a time that the bay area was serviced by a non-profit ticketing agency. everyone paid face value. when ticketmaster took over, they didn't lower the face value then added the 'convenience' charges. they just added convenience charges. given that the same service can be offered for free, who the fuck are ticketmaster to make us pay for it?

do we benefit at all from the service ticketmaster provide? no. is there any advantage to buying through ticketmaster? no. do they do anything better than bass tickets used to? no. so what the fuck are we paying for? someone's cocaine habit?

actually, they do give you a service that others cant provide. i never used bass tickets, but i have used other TM alternatives these days, and usually they suck. if youve ever tried to buy tix for a big, high demand show, from some smaller ticketing company, you have probably noticed a difference. usually the servers will crash at least once, or they are so slow that it takes the page 10 mins just to load. somehow, somebody will get fucked over from technical difficulties. that hardly ever happens with TM. also, they have a lot of outlets all over where as some companies, you either have to buy online, or you have to drive super far to find an outlet. all these benefits make them a lot more convenient than buying from somebody else, hence the "convenience charge".

ill admit that these days things are getting much better as far as the reliability of other ticketing companies like musictoday, but it doesnt matter cuz those places charge almost as much of a convenience charge as TM anyway. and their website still sucks. even though it probably wont crash, its a bitch to navigate. not saying i agree with the amount of markup that TM does, but just that they do seem to offer services above and beyond anything else i have experienced.

yes, they have a reliable website, although I disagree about high demand times -- on some occasions (e.g. radiohead playing the greek theatre berkeley) it slows down to the point where I have no idea if I'm actually going to get my tickets, and I've once or twice been screwed out of floor tickets because their website f'ed up in the middle of my order. the only other online vendor I've used is ticketweb, who I prefer and have never had problems with. even at high demand shows (e.g. when the flaming lips played bimbo's last year).

BUT I have to say, as a software developer who works with web technologies, it doesn't cost a lot to engineer & maintain that site. that can be done by a single, fairly small team of people. the order processing fees alone will pay for that. if it was just face value + order processing fee, that'd be cool. the convenience charge is just rude.

Ask TM and then shut you mouth bitch. TM adds the fees bcause they can and will. They got the bright idea to charge you $2.50 to print tickets out and all it takes is like 5 mins to make a PDF file. ''Processing'' is a b.s. term for them to say their servers work insanely hard putting your order through. YOUR ASS GAVE IN AND SO DID A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE WHEN THEY PAY THE EXTRA MONEY FOR THESE CONVINIENCES.

Its more convinient for me to go buy tickets at an outlet because I can and will, I dont have to be in my pj's rolling out of bed at 9.59 to get my tickets for s**t like your lazy ass.

Email TM and ask then why thet do it, ask the source of all evil for your answer ok? Take your problems to the real morons who steal your money each time you buy tickets online.

suprefan speaks as if the whole 'go to an outlet' argument solves everything, but it really doesn't. it saves you $5, maybe $7 if you would've used ticketfast. and that's per order, not per ticket. you still get raped with the 'convenience' charge added per ticket. the only way to avoid it is buying at the venue box office, which as we already discussed is often not an option. excuse us for feeling violated.

And Justice for All
Parisian duo wins the West

By Randall Roberts
Wednesday, September 26, 2007 - 1:50 pm

The guys who make up the French electronic duo Justice don’t seem to want to be in Los Angeles on this particular day, the day after they were in Las Vegas for MTV’s Video Music Awards, where the clip for their breakout single “D.A.N.C.E.” was up for Video of the Year. The night before that, they were in Glasgow; before that, London. Tomorrow they fly to Cologne, then on to Berlin, Hamburg and, ultimately, Australia. Today was supposed to be a day off, but a last-minute photo shoot for Urb magazine beckoned. They’re only spending eight measly hours in L.A. before boarding a plane back to Vegas — they have plans to do some gambling tonight — and the least-favorite part of their ascending worldwide fame is the photo shoots.

As they descend the escalator at LAX, standing side by side on the same step in matching black jackets and white Capezio shoes, they look like they’re in a music video: the haggard, sleepy-eyed jet setters, casually unkempt in that Franco-fabulous way, their thoughts on the cigarettes they’ll soon be enjoying upon exiting the terminal. Xavier de Rosnay, who has wide, almond eyes beneath a defiantly untended unibrow, bums a smoke from his partner, Gaspard Auge, who’s taller, slouchier and mostly asleep. He looks like he could be a Doobie Brother, with his overgrown nest of brown hair and a sideburn-mustache combo. They smoke their cigarettes, de Rosnay mumbles something about maybe stopping at a Burger King for some lunch, and the two slip into the back of a Saab sedan headed for Culver City, where a photo stage awaits their arrival.

Despite the fireworks that accompanied this year’s VMAs, the duo missed most of that night’s gossip-fodder action, which seems fine by them. They were still on the red carpet when Britney did her belly flop, and even though they were sitting at the same table as Kid Rock, Justice managed to miss the tussle with Tommy Lee. They were far removed from Kanye’s backstage sore-loser tantrum.

Here’s de Rosnay’s abridged version of the day. Imagine a thick French accent:

“We checked into the hotel, we went to the event, then we had the red-carpet shit, which was nothing because we were stuck between two lead celebrities and nobody knows who we are, so the journalists didn’t ask us any questions. We went to the event, then we lost. We skipped the after-parties and went to dinner, and then we went back to the hotel to sleep because we knew we had to wake up early this morning.”

His casual demeanor aside, the nomination was a surprise. A year ago, Vegas odds on a French duo that’s not Daft Punk getting nominated for anything would have been pretty high. America’s pop-music consciousness, ever impatient, had moved away from “electronica,” as electronic dance music of all shapes and sizes had become known, and re-embraced rock. The music, so perfect for turn-of-the-century revelry, seemed to stagnate post-9/11. It turned in on itself, fixated on minimalism, and lost the rockers and hipsters who in years prior had been buying techno and house records.

Add to that, there hadn’t been an electronic artist nominated for the top prize since Fatboy Slim in 2001, and Justice’s nod seemed some sort of mistake. Except that it wasn’t. For the first time in years, MTV seemed almost, well, relevant.

Like magic, 2007 delivered the world, America and, specifically, Los Angeles a hot French summer, filled with huge, synthetic beats coupled with massive electro-rock riffs and a party-time vibe.

The summer of France unofficially began in the springtime, with the triumphant debut at Coachella of Justice and the entire posse from their French label, Ed Banger, followed the next night by a massive Ed Banger/Dim Mak/Cobrasnake party to christen the then-new Echoplex. By July, Justice’s ubiquitous “D.A.N.C.E.” — or one of its countless remixes — was on virtually every dance floor and mixtape. That month, fellow Frenchmen Daft Punk performed a victorious throwdown at the L.A. Sports Arena, an event that has already taken on near-mythic status. Another rising French label, Institubes, impressed Los Angeles in mid-September with its own visit to the Echoplex. Last Friday, big-deal selector Diplo dropped “Never Be Alone” at the climax of his Echoplex set, and the crowd rejoiced. And L.A.-based Guns n’ Bombs are signed to the excellent Paris label Kitsune. The summer will unofficially end next week, when Justice and the Ed Banger crew arrive to perform a series of local shows. Once again, Paris has arrived, though de Rosnay seems relatively ambivalent about the hype as the car exits LAX and makes its way to the photo shoot. “Three years ago, it was New York City with the post-punk things and the DFA. Now it’s Paris and our music.”

Skeptics wary of the convergence of hard rock — be it metal or hardcore punk — electronic music and France need look no further than a recent download offered at the Web site of Justice’s American label, Vice Records, for a feast that’ll shut them up. It’s a cover of Justice’s “Stress” by one of the decade’s great punk bands, Fucked Up, whose revolutionary 18-minute opus, “Year of the Pig,” is destined to be at the top of many year-end best-of lists.

If you blindfolded a skinhead, stomped on his toes a few times (just for fun) and played him Fucked Up’s cover, he’d be slam-dancing within moments. Beginning with a snarky voice saying, “Techno . . . Unnnhhh,” the cover is a dirge-punk anthem, all wobbly with distorted guitars, a plodding, repetitive bass line and some dude, probably vocalist Pink Eyes, grunting at odd moments like somebody’s yanking his fingernails out. There are no bells or whistles, no divas wailing about the sunset, or love, or some other rave-friendly bullshit. It’s all energy and evil. (The cover is available for free download on Vice’s Web site.)

“It just sounds like a death-metal song,” says 10,000 Marbles, guitarist for Fucked Up, of Justice’s original track. “It sort of seems like they had imagined what it would sound like with electric guitars while they were recording it. So we thought we’d just do them the favor of adding them. And we noticed that, unlike most techno songs, it had discernible verses, choruses and bridges. It already sounds like a cover of a heavy metal band, rather than a techno song. So it was kind of tailor-made for a band to come in and cover it.”

(Photo by Mark The Cobrasnake Hunter) But then, that’s the sound of Justice, and though Fucked Up’s cover of “Stress” is hard, the original is perhaps even more sinister — even without the distorted guitars. In their place is an ominous, screechy string section that sounds like the climax of a Hitchcock thriller, joined by a hearty four-four stomp and a few deep robotic burps.

“It’s not that they’re making rock & roll tracks,” clarifies Adam Shore, general manager of Vice Records. “But they are bringing to their music a similar attitude and energy, and dynamic and aesthetic, that a lot of great rock bands bring to their own tracks.”

It’s a vibe that permeates , Justice’s debut full-length, a thick, tight, nearly all-instrumental album with melodies, hooks, refrains, bridges and massive strings. The only missing ingredient, thankfully, is the insipid lyrics that ruin most albums, a point that is sadly proved again on the album’s only dud, “The Party,” which features the embarrassingly dull rhymes of American-in-Paris “rapper” Uffie.

In the place of words in most of the songs, however, are what feel like placeholders — midrange melodies that travel the length of the song and play the part of singer. On “Phantom,” one of the standout tracks, what sounds like a distorted vocoder seems to hum across the track like an android learning to scat-sing, while, underneath, a deliberate, clunky rhythm walks along like Frankenstein out for a jog.

The hit, “D.A.N.C.E.,” is the most welcoming track on the album, thanks in large part to the children’s chorus chanting a singsong ditty about the star of the dance floor: “You were such a P.Y.T., catching all the lights, just easy as A.B.C., that’s how you make it right. Do the dance!” It’s a joyous pop song with a refrain that you’ll be singing all day long, and it’s difficult to reconcile this gentle, joyous moment with the dirtier, more aggressive tracks.

“The more recent stuff we did for the album is the more pop-oriented,” explains de Rosnay, sitting in the back of the car next to Auge, who grunts in agreement, half-asleep with his mouth half-open, shades shielding his eyes from the afternoon sun. “We’ve moved away from the noisy things maybe one year ago, or a year and a half ago. But we like to make both. On the one hand, we like melodic stuff, but on the other hand, no melody, just noise and impressions. It just depends on the track. But I think we are moving toward more melodic stuff.”

Indeed, their discography bears this out. The duo rose to fame on the back of a remix of “We Are Your Friends,” by British band Simian. Justice created the track, which they renamed “Never Be Alone,” in 2005 for a remix contest, lost, released the song anyway, and it blew up. Within a year, they were remixing Britney and Madonna, Pharell’s N.E.R.D. project, Daft Punk and Franz Ferdinand. Although each of these remixes travels a unique path that blends rock and disco, you can hear the sound of a duo discovering its voice, one that, says de Rosnay, was partly the result of necessity.

When we started, the only way for us to make songs together was to finish them ourselves — to bypass studios and recordings and just make them with computers and machines,” he says. “But if we were great musicians and we had big studios, I think we would make something that sounds like late-’70s, West Coast pop music, like Steely Dan or something. But because we have to work in a simpler way, it ends up sounding like what we do.”

Dim Mak Records founder and DJ-in-demand Steve Aoki agrees that the Coachella-Echoplex weekend energized the dance scene. The back-to-back events announced with electro beats and glorious hooks that Paris and Los Angeles were a potent tag team delivering hard rhythms with punk rock attitude.

“I’ve never seen a party so insane in my life,” says Aoki, of the Echoplex night. “It was the best L.A. party I’ve ever seen — and I’ve been to a lot of parties. It was so raw. The energy was so real. It just felt like before then there was this sort of vacancy. It was like everybody had been waiting for it, and finally it came. And it was quality, forward-thinking music too. It hit you right in the chest.”

De Rosnay has a theory, one he shares while sitting at a white table in a big white studio where the duo is getting ready to begin the photo shoot. In France, he explains, there is a great rivalry between Paris and Marseille. It’s a competitive streak based on regionalism and pride, and permeates the interactions between the citizenry of each city.

“In France,” he explains, taking a sip of coffee, “Paris and Marseille are in different parts of the country, Paris in the north and Marseille in the south, and they hate each other. I don’t know if it’s like that with New York and Los Angeles” — uh, yep — “but maybe since New York has had success with [NYC record label/remixers] the DFA and that sound, maybe Los Angeles has adopted the music of Paris as part of the competition.”

“It’s interesting,” offers Vice Records’ Adam Shore, on the phone from New York. “Because L.A. has more wide-open spaces than we do. The rave thing established itself in L.A. in a way that it did not in the East. And the promoters who grew out of that created Coachella, which always gives a gigantic stage to these artists.

“But, yes, where L.A. has embraced these dance artists in a way that’s maybe greater than these other cities have, it hadn’t started creating its own talent until just recently. Now you’ve got L.A. Riots, and Guns n’ Bombs and the I Heart Comix crew. You’ve got a pretty exciting thing going on, and there does kind of seem to be this hedonistic party DJ vibe happening with a bunch of crews here. It’s a little early, but I think that L.A. is really going to run with it in the next year. There’s just a lot of kids doing a lot of creative things.” (The curious may want to attend this weekend’s Neighborhood Music Festival, featuring music representing a wide swath of the L.A. dance scene.)

“If you listen to the stuff that’s exploding,” adds Aoki, “it’s all got this punk energy to it. You go to the shows and people are stage diving, fucking singing along and having fun, all sweaty and dancing hard — being kids. I remember when I was doing that when I was 15. There’s a ‘This is our shit’ vibe to it.”

The punk philosophy that Aoki describes is evident at Justice’s photo shoot, which is just gearing up. Despite the fact that they’re being shot this afternoon for the cover of Urb, the two remain bed-headed, unshaven, foggy-eyed and a little bit crusty. You’d think that at some point a stylist would enter to save the day, or at least clean the Frenchmen up a little bit. They’re budding stars, after all, and they’ve flown all this way.

But this ambivalence to their appearance is a cornerstone of Justice’s aesthetic, says de Rosnay. Their general disregard for the process of hit-making moves from their attitude to their style — even if they are unapologetically making pop music. Were it up to them, he explains, Justice would go the Daft Punk route and be invisible, or don some robot helmets. But they already draw many comparisons to their fellow Parisian producers (the two duos share a manager, Ed Banger kingpin Busy P), so disappearing or creating a shtick is of little interest. Sure, they could wear matching track suits, or become cross-dressers, or wax their eyebrows and retool their image. They could decline photo shoots, be difficult with journalists and turn into prima donnas. Instead, says de Rosnay, they’ve decided to go a different route: to be themselves, warts and all.

“We want to be like your neighbors,” he explains, “only cooler.”

Yep, they're doing Kimmel before the Fonda show. Justice will probably be performing on Kimmel from 7:00-8:30 then they'll rush to the Fonda and get there before or after Midnight Juggernauts finish their set.

so i like the justice record and all but hadn't been that interested in going to their show here in SD because it was on a sunday night and i work early on mondays. but i found out i'm off monday for columbus day holiday and the show is at cane's, so i'm thinking about going.

what is their "live" set like? is it like daft punk or the chemical bros where they're mostly pushing buttons, or is it with a band and people playing instruments like guitars and drums? just curious.

more of a daft punk/chem bros type thing

GO it will be worth it and i hope im off for columbus day as well doubt it though

Yeah im going. Are you leaving your car in San Ysidro or are you crossing it?
Im leaving it in that parking lot that you pay and you can leave it overnight. Theres two huge parking lots, one that is close to the border entrance and one that is close to the border exit.

I'm just going to assume you're talking about Justice playing "live" (as opposed to a Dj set) and respond with:

How much material do you think they have exactly?

Listen to their essential mix, that it what the show is gonna be like. At Coachella they just banged out the hits and the show was their own material. But there will be other stuff in there to complement their stuff this time around. You still will get a full sample of all their songs though.

-Cant wait to hear DANCE (live mix).

Guys I'm in bad spot.

The justice show in NY is on a saturday before I have 3 tests in college.

I have to go to this show. But I really can't because I need to study.

This is the hardest decision I have ever made, lol

What do I do?

I have to decide now cause my buddy needs to know cause its a long drive. And he's gonna just sell the tickets now. 5 hour drive which is the problem. If it was just down the street it wouldn't matter. But the trip willl end up killing 2 days worth of studying.

I dont know, I guess like you said, probably over the "phase". The whole Ed Banger / Justice package was the MAIN reason why I went to Coachella this year, other then the fact that it is, COACHELLA. And I had an unbelievable experience. But now a few months later, It's all sounding generic to me.

My Detour Festival:

Amanda and I hopped on the Gold Line from Highland Park Saturday afternoon and got off at Chinatown where we strolled over to Phillipe's for French beef bleu dipped sammiches. We strolled on down to the festival arriving just as the Aggrolites took the stage. Tight, happy ska - they looked sharp all dressed in red bringing an irie vibe to this downtown intersection at 3pm. It's so awesome to get people rubbing shoulders on the streets around city hall for this party. Great buildings, beautifully lit at night.

We wandered around looking at the merch and ferris wheel and ended up lolling on the grass by the south stage with mango/banana smoothies as the Deadly Syndrome played a nondescript set while we waited for the Ed Banger crue. When we arrived at the plaza stage Franki Chan was spinning. He's so tiny! The audience was definitely ready for Ed Banger and would go into a frenzy when Busy P or Kavinsky were spotted necking with their hunnybuns back behind the stage.

Ed Banger comes at you like a fuckin' spider monkey. Five of this label's artists came on stage and spun a tag-team danceparty for 3.5 hours. The coolest thing is that Kavinsky spins Sebastian's stuff and tweaks it all up, then Busy P drops Daft Punk breaks, and Mehdi samples the whole label's roster, including Justice. It's insane. Towards the end all of them were behind the decks and the audience were dancing like the possessed. This is the best party going. Ed Banger for world domination.

I snuck away for a moment to catch a couple of Kinky's songs and they brought it but I've seen them thrice before so I had to get back to the plaza.

We caught the last song by Satellite Party (god I love Perry and it's wonderful to hear his earlier stuff and this band has a thrashy guitar player for sure and his wife's pretty: but she's got to go) in order to be ready for Teddybears. I caught this act from Stockholm (what's with this invasion of Swedish cool bands?) at Coachella this year and was blown away. They Bring it. I missed having their doctored movie clips playing in the bg - Clockwork Orange and The Shining and Warriors with the actors wearing teddybear heads, but the music held up just fine.

Halfway through Teddybears there was an exodus to the south stage for the Justice show. There was a buzz on them at Coachella and I personally think they took Best In Show this year, but they've since gotten massive it seems by hipster word of mouth, and deservedly so. I thought their set was only adequate last night (which is still pretty awesome) but I have the bootleg of a show they did in Oslo in July that is almost identical to what they played last night. I'm hoping that Detour was a "dj" set and that when they bring their A game to the Music Box on Monday and Tuesday they will perform "live". I'm curious to read what others thought of this performance.

I didn't stay much longer after Justice. Amanda wanted to see Bloc Party (who I don't get), and I was too tired to catch Ed Banger Part Two so I strolled over to Union Station for the streetcar ride home. It is pretty incredible to get to walk the six blocks from Detour to the train station at 10:30pm and not have to be "careful". I'd like more of that please. Also - because we took public transit to the show, we were entered into a contest to win tkts to Coachella 2008 which we fully expect to do. In the name of all things holy, please bring Underworld and The Chemmies next year. Please, please.

See you at Vegoose. Three weeks. I kinda live for this stuff.

not to rant about tshirts, but ed banger shirts are cool because of So Me's artwork, which is his own unique style (bright colors and bubble letters?), so technically thats what you hate. also, all ed banger shirts come in black, the justice one, the milkcrate one, and the ed rec volume 2 one. all other shirts that So Me does are other brands and other artwork, you all just refer to them as ed banger shirts because its So Me.

I respect your opinion, I dont care, just want to set the facts straight. oh an Kavinsky isnt on Ed Banger.

damn, i am still fucked from last night. that shit was epic! justice was amazing, of course, but like somebody said, canes security were assholes. they were nazis about cameras, kept telling everybody to shut them off or they would get kicked out. i managed to still get some good footage though. another thing that was dumb was that they didnt turn off the house lights around the sides of the place, by the bars. it kind of ruined the vibe a little cuz it should have been darker. justice didnt play very long, maybe an hour and a half, not sure. and yes, they ended with master of puppets.

HUGE PROPS TO ANTI-SQUARE for driving our asses down to TJ. Thanks a million man! that saved us quite a few dollars. hope you and your cute little cousin had fun down there.

the afterparty was off the hook. pretty much everything i expected an ed banger party to be like, and more. bunch of people all dancing around the turntables. crazy lights and lasers. we almost shut it down, but left around 4:30 or 5. justice never showed up though. still, all the other ed banger guys were blowing that shit up. i love partying down there, you can do whatever the hell you want. quite a contrast from canes.

On our way to Justice tonight we have to stop and get me a lip piercing, some lime green Ray Ban Way Ferer Sunglasses, and some really really tight pants, and possibly a flannel shirt from the 80's. I have already made sure not to shower since last week, Okay thanks bye.

not to rant about tshirts, but ed banger shirts are cool because of So Me's artwork, which is his own unique style (bright colors and bubble letters?), so technically thats what you hate. also, all ed banger shirts come in black, the justice one, the milkcrate one, and the ed rec volume 2 one. all other shirts that So Me does are other brands and other artwork, you all just refer to them as ed banger shirts because its So Me.

I respect your opinion, I dont care, just want to set the facts straight. oh an Kavinsky isnt on Ed Banger.

thats all fine and great. they are still ugly, imo. i just dont like So Me's style i guess.

We can get this all done at American Apparel. Make sure you got room on your credit card.

damn, i am still fucked from last night. that shit was epic! justice was amazing, of course, but like somebody said, canes security were assholes. they were nazis about cameras, kept telling everybody to shut them off or they would get kicked out. i managed to still get some good footage though. another thing that was dumb was that they didnt turn off the house lights around the sides of the place, by the bars. it kind of ruined the vibe a little cuz it should have been darker. justice didnt play very long, maybe an hour and a half, not sure. and yes, they ended with master of puppets.

HAHA! I'm glad to hear you guys made it back from tj alright. Its no problem driving down there. It always good when you meet someone from the internets and they are not weirdos. My cousin had warned about the risk of getting sexecuted, but I figured you'd be cool. Damn, its awesome that you guys rocked out until 5. We had to bail around 2 because my cuz had to get home and we had quite a drive ahead of us. I was dying on the way home but it was definitely worth crossing the border. Did you get the text?

Anyway, I second everything Sexecutioner just mentioned. Midnight Juggernauts were fucking brilliant. Justice was fucking brilliant. Afterparty insane fucking blast! I woke up with a little bruise on my cheek but I don't give a shit. Everybody was jumping around and I was right in the pit. I suggest not holding back and leave the beer if your going to be in the front of the dance floor. Some asshole in front of me tried telling to stop dancing so much because I was bumping his cup, not realizing he was the only prick not jumping up and down. I solved his problem by grabbing the cup and drinking the rest of his beer. I smiled, told him I would getting him another l and kept dancing. Moral of the story is if your smaller than me, dont try telling what to do and also if your at an edbanger bash, its mandatory to kill it on the dance floor!

So bummed I missed Justice, they're definitely high on my to-see list. However, my brain is still on overload from catching Daft Punk in Berkeley a few months ago. Some day...some day.
