Nope. I'm looking forward to Lolla [Muse ... I'm destined to hear you from up close], thinking hard about Sasquatch [Interpol converted me that much], and doing research on ACL. Coachella helped me see the light. I will now do what I have to do to ride the high I got at the Polo field until the other festivals come around [not too long with Sasquatch right around the corner].

no, im getting more and more positive by the hour. im planning on an exponentially positive attitude improvement up to next year.
really though, what must go up, must come down. i saw a possibility for a better balance in my life this weekend. BALANCE. nothing too good, nothing too bad. right in the middle. the narrow, middle path.

I was complaining about the awful heat at the camp ground all weekend. I just wanted to get a hotel room with a bed, hot shower and flushable toilet. but when we were leaving last night, we walked through the camp ground as a short cut to avoid the crowd and i started to miss the sound of the cheers from one end of the ground to the other! Coachella will be missed, will at least until 08!

Yeah I always get depressed the Monday right after coachella. As we were checking out of the hotel my friend said (in a joking manner) "we would like to make reservations for next year." We laughed but the girl at the counter actually let us!

The drive home from Coachella always gets to me. I spend so many months preparing for the festival (starting in October with hotel reservations) and i hate to see it all end. There is no other point during the year when I am exposed to so much great music and online bickering. All I have now is baseball season.

This Coachella seems to go by faster than any of the previous ones.
I kept saying, "I can't believe it's already over" all the way to the car. I turned around several times on my way out the door just hoping someone would announce that 1/2 a day was going to be added to Monday.

Walking back to the campgrounds after Rage I kept turning around and looking at the sea of people behind me, and thinking about how I won't get to see the polo fields and the stage and the tents and the best fucking tempeh wraps and the smell of horse shit and sweat and desert and the lights coming together above me for another year, and in a minute I'd be exiting and there'd be no re-entry...I felt like crying.
I'm just going to have to try really hard to immerse myself in the final Harry Potter book. Wait....Fuck.

I've got the depression bad. Also my best friend from NC drove out to meet me there. I hadn't seen her in 2 years.

ha.. i loved those cheers.. i miss those the most now also.. i miss everyone sleeping on the side of their tents, at 8:30 AM, trying to get those last few inches of shade.. i miss the late night chats with everyone about how amazing this DJ was or that band was.. and the positive vibe that stays with you for a few hours.. and then you wake up and do the whole damn thing all over again..

I actually teared up on the plane ride home. I was listening to AF's Ocean of Noise and watching the clouds beneath me. Something just hit me right there. I spent so much time preparing for the Coachella weekend, and swapping cd's with my friends and becoming familiar with new artists. And now I have to wait a whole 'nother year. Boo.
