The cab driver jewwwed him out.

Hey Everyone! Here comes the Choo-Choo!!!

Hahaha...You have no idea how much I kept laughing at that line all throughout the weekend.
CoC was one of the highlights for me. I've been wanting to see Zach G for so long and I was thrilled to finally see him. Brain, Patton, Aziz, and the rest of them were all great. They should make them a fixture each year at the festival and maybe one day a comedy tent like Bonnaroo has.

Aziz was hilarious, I wasn't a fan of the lady at alllll..

"I'm a very gentle rapist. People say things like 'Yeah I got raped by Aziz. It was kinda nice'"

"This tent makes me feel like I'm being dutch ovened"

hahaha

I only saw Brian and Patton, but they were awesome. I loved Patton's story about his folks and Cirque De Soleil.

and of course,

"Want to climb aboard the rock n roll train?"

I'm still kicking myself for missing Brian and Zack. I did manage to catch a bunch of Patton though, and some of the earlier performers, like Trevor and Henderson.

Aziz was my favorite. I only knew him from Klell Tickle.

They were amazing. I am so glad that the only comedy act pulled it off that well. IF anyone from GV is reading this, a comedy tent would be amazing. It would be packed all day, and I dont think anyone would object.

"I'm a very gentle rapist. People say things like 'Yeah I got raped by Aziz. It was kinda nice'"

I believe the word he used was "refreshing". Comedy is all about word choice. :)

CoC was great overall, but they were stretching it with 9 acts. Having Patton come out FIRST was a great idea, it helped get everyone pumped up.

-Jasper was pretty weak- I could tell he was probably funny, but he would have to build for awhile. 5 minutes just didn't work for him. I don't think he would have gotten a single laugh out of me if Patton hadn't warmed the crowd up.

-The second guy was kind of funny, but he needs a lot of practice before he'll have the stage presence to hold 1000 people's attention. He was all over the place.

-Howard/Dragon was OK, but went too long- if he had just come out and did a couple jokes and gone into the Wolves song, he might have killed it.

-Aziz was decent, but if I hadn't just discovered his show, I would have gotten bored. It seemed like maybe they stole a couple minutes from everyone else to give him more time, since he's "recently famous"

-Hard & Phirm were genius, but they were totally out of place. You had to pay attention to them too much for most of the crowd- they'd do a 4 minute folk song, and the last line is the punchline. I would have loved to see them do a 30 minute set in the evening, but they just dragged everything to a halt. People didn't know what to make of them.

-Maria was the big disappointment. She apparently hasn't written a new joke in 2 or 3 years. I have her "Burning Bridges" CD and it's a riot. But I've seen her rehash the same bits on various specials for the last couple years, and this was no exception. And she did the lame version of her anxiety song- the one that ends with "They can't get you if you're singing a song." Originally, the song was sung to the tune of "I will always love you" and ended with something like "...if I clench my fists, I won't somehow get AIDS." The only thing worse than hearing the same joke again is hearing an inferior version of it. She seemed very nervous too.

-Zach saved the whole experience. I don't think I had fully appreciated him until now. There was something magical about that closing bit- everyone just got so swept up in it, and you knew you were seeing something special. I went to look at the YouTube tapes of it, and it's kind of stupid, and it doesn't make much sense. But there was an electric feeling running through the tent at the time.

I really wanted to see Brian and Patton. In fact, my original plan was to JUST see Zach, Brian & Patton. But I knew no one would top Zach, and we had already seen a little Patton, so we went to have lunch. It was just too long to sit cross legged in a tent in 99 degrees.

Hopefully, it was successful enough, they will have a comedy tent in the future and run it like Bonnaroo does. There, they have multiple 90-120 minute shows a few times a day with different headliners. Each headliner does 3 or 4 shows throughout the weekend.
