People in the UK press keep calling Mika "The Next Big Thing." I've heard one song called "Grace Kelly" - a little camp, a little Freddie Mercury, a little T Rex maybe?

Anyone heard him? Is he the real thing or just the usual hype? He's playing early on Sunday - so it'll be quite an effort to drag myself there! :)

a "little" Freddie? It is ALL Freddie... and I am totally digging it! Next big thing... um i don't see it happening. A kick-ass time, sure.

Should be a blast. High camp indeed!
I hear a lot of Scissor Sisters and Robbie Williams in there as well.
Don't know about the whole Next Big Thing aspect though. Fun, pop act that'll undoubtedly entertain - no more, no less.

i saw that video and honestly the song is right behind fuckin 'fergalicious' in the whole non-quality aspect.

it's cheesy as hell, but it's a catchy pop tune. should be fun.

sickeningly catchy. this is one of those that will be played out by the time april 29th comes around and people will still get way too excited about it. in the lily allen category.

I um "got" his album this weekend and have been listening to it on rotation in my evergrowing Coachella 07 playlist. It's very camp indeed and I probably couldn't listen to the whole thing straight through with out getting a sugar high, but there are a few decent tunes and it's fun light pop. I can't say he's at the top of my list but if there's an open space in my calender and he's on I might check it out.
