Women and Pantyhose!!

Okay, I need to ask the women of the Coachella message board a question.
My girl wears pantyhose just about everyday for work and it seems that I am buying pantyhose about 2-3 times a week due to snags or runs in the stockings.

I swear I should be buying stock in this company....the question: Is she just not taking care of what she does or is this something that is normal??

Maybe I am just blowing this out of proportion but I didn't know one person could go thru this much pantyhose in a lifetime.

Is she obligated to wear hose because of dress code? That sucks if that's the case. Panty hose are horrible. If not, then she needs to reevaluate her attire.

A good pair of panty hose should endure atleast a handful of wears. One pair a week should work, but if they're cheap maybe two or three. Maybe she should incorporate tights. They last much longer.

Shes the door girl for a club. She hates to wear them everyday but she feels more comfortable wearing them rather than going without. She isn't allowed to wear jeans *at all* but don't know about tights.

She does more than greet people but is also part secretary and her area is a bit cramped from what I have seen. Still its like a small fortune in pantyhose...I think I will start figuring out how long one pair lasts and what we spend in a week. Time to reel this in...

And yes...pantyhose like all other types of uncomfortable clothing worn by women have been made and named by men. Go figure... >_<

-thigh highs: still snag, but at least they are kinda fun
-that weird spray pantyhose stuff they sell: has anyone tried this?
-leggings: although I sort of hate them

Probably other things too that I can't think of right now.

Thanks for the alternatives courtney along with everyone else. I'll bring this up to her tonight and see what she thinks as well. Personally I prefer to see bare leg than covered with pantyhose.

Personally I don't think knee high boots/longer skirt would cut it everyday, she makes tips off of people coming into the club and they prefer to see there women with as little clothing on if any. Thigh highs are an idea.

She is a huge klutz though but I agree those poor pantyhose never stand a chance once they approach their second trial....

so....Is your lady a exotic dancer? If she is showing more skin and it is a dark club why just not wear the pantyhose? If she is making money off tips for showing skin most guys wont care what color her legs are.

Like I stated before she is the door girl there so she does the meet, greet, and takes their money but no clothes come off her. She also works during the day and she is always running around the club in rather well lit areas.

Shes not vain but the bottoms of her legs near the ankle are scarred some, they barely register and you really have to be looking for them. But SHE knows they are there and is insecure about them.
I will try yet again, she has great legs but we'll she how she takes the options. Thanks again for the ideas.

Also, cheap ones won't last long at all. The more expensive ones will last longer. When I had to wear hose at work, I used to buy the Calvin Klein ones-they lasted quite a while.

Have her try DKNY tights.They are very sturdy & comfy.
Also does she wear jewlery-rings/bracelets-when she puts on her hose?
This could be causing snags, her nails could be causing snags also if not well kept.
DOes she wash her hose with the rest of her laundry- they should be done
seperatly.

Yep, thigh highs are fun...And bonus if you snag one you can toss it and get another that matches.Lots better than throwing out the whole shabang~ (Pssst...I really should be posting in the "I'm drunk thread" I think...)

That's a good point-she should be handwashing her hose and hanging them to dry.

Actually brought the ideas up to her and she is in aggreence with just about all of them. Thigh Highs sound like the best approach to her.

Self tanning is out of the question-too pale, shes tried and it turns out orange on her. Also spray on pantyhose.....will have to try that. Shes heard of it but thats it.
No the usual reason she gets runs or snags is because shes a klutz!! >_< Filing cabinets or where she sits when she goes out to smoke is the biggest problem.

Capt and Grl, I think better quality is definetly in order, Calvin Klein/DKNY is it?? And she does buy her own but I am usually with her....so I typically buy them. We spilt the washing duties but typically they go with delicates. The runs are usually a direct result from work, nothing else.

You'll find the higher end stuff in department stores rather than drug stores-hit the mall......you can get them at Dillards, Nordstroms, Macys...etc.
