whoa whoa whoa... You don't know Scott Walker?

Download "Scott 4" now!

He's a great singer song writer that started with the Walker Brothers... Quit at the height of fame.... and then recorded 4 stellar, and sometimes very strange, records "Scott 1-4." After that he disappeared for 20 years and then resurfaced making avant garde pop music. His latest albums "Tilt" and "The Drift" are unlike anything you've ever heard.

I edited the parameters a bit to include important and influential. I know that is sort of objective, but fuck it.

For example Dr. Dre would be acceptable. Soulja Boy would not.

Also, I changed it to 60 years.

Edit: Fuck it, anything reasonable goes doesn't matter if it's not influential or important. Soulja Boy is still not acceptable.

Yeah, I did not realize how far back his catalog went until you posted that and I looked him up...I really liked Tilt and Drift.

It's ironic that Scott Walker should be on as an example of the US, since when he and the Walker Brothers started out, they couldn't get arrested in the US, whereas they were chart toppers in the UK.

The UK and the US have given birth to different genres, so its all in your taste in music. But in the parameters of the last 60 years the UK wins, imo.
