So I'm watching a show on discovery about wearable computers. They have GPS in their wearable computer and all these other things. It's crazy. I remember when things like GPS and MP3 players looked super cool but were way to expensive. That and I'm not very old

My mom was all up on the computers when I was younger. she had this bad boy.
I found it in the basement and programmed some games like space invaders and pac man on it. It used cassette tapes to save |

This was my first computer:
It's nice to know that I didn't have to be a genius to use it. |

I love that the text reads "there was a time when 18000 wouldnt even cover the montly cost of a computer."
edit* We also had the Atari 800 and the Commodore 64. Last edited by Bud Luster; 03-31-2008 at 02:13 PM. |

Learned programming in school using these:
![]() It was FORTRAN, or Cobol, I don't remember which. You had to write the program on coding sheets, then walk over to the keypunch, and punch out about 15 cards just to execute some simple bookkeeping function. Simply excrutiating. Never wanted to program computers ever after. (Although I did have to take a Unix class in college.) |
