quote from noel interview, ominous for coachella? sounds like he's not a big fan of festival gigs:

"Are you tempted to headline Glastonbury next year?

"I think that when Michael Eavis reads this press release he’ll s**t himself. I wouldn't bother to play Glasto. Here is where it's going to be at next summer. Would you go? Why, is R Kelly playing? I've said before we wouldn't play there again, we always blow the big gigs, we always manage to George Best it.

"The first time we played Glasto, we played too many songs off 'Morning Glory', and it hadn't come out yet. Glasto is great to be at, but it's not great for people like us to play at. You're on at 11, and the people you're with are absolutely battered. Your girlfriend stops making sense. So, no, we won't play next year."

another funny one:
Will you play the Wembley gig in the round?

“No, that's a bit Rod Stewart. I think we'll be doing it in the traditional sense. There's a stage at one end, a bar at the other, and a bit in the middle which you don't get involved in if you're over 25. I'd rather face the audience, rather than flashing lights. As long as there's big movie footage of me playing guitar.

"The second night (at Wembley Stadium in 2000) was quite monumental, because Liam had been out with a Spice Girl the night before – a Spice Girl - and he didn’t bother going to bed. It was the first comedy performance at the old Wembley. The first night was great, the second night was excruciating. I'm not annoyed with him, it's his band as much as mine. But it's all over YouTube though!"

I posted elsewhere but it belongs here, I'm RIDICULOUSLY late to the game. How late you ask? I heard "Wonderwall" for the first time just a couple days ago. I heard that album for first time a few days ago as well. Yeah, exactly. Don't flame me for it, I dont know how I've gotten to the almost age of 21 without ever listening to Oasis but bottom line, I'm really fucking loving "What the story(morning glory)". I have a couple more of their albums in my posession but I think I'm going to stick with "...(morning glory)" for a little bit. I love the lyrics, some of the songs are beautiful, some of them just rock out, a lot of it really IS made to sing along to (i get it now!) I'm not quite sure if i'm on the Oasis for Coachella bandwagon just yet, but I would very much like to see them live.

Don't be so hard on yourself. There's a lot of music out there.

I have a total of 2000 plus CDs organized alphabetically by artist then alphabetized by album. I printed the list out the other day and circled areas of opportunity. As an example, I have 8 Bob Dylan CDs, 3 Elvis Costello CDs, and 24 Miles Davis CDs. Though this may seem like enough for these artists, I feel like I'm missing out on parts of their career.

You can only do so much.

I wish Oasis were the type of band to play diverse setlists every night. They have so many good songs. Oh well.

am I the only one who wishes they would stop playing the U.S singles (don't look back... wonderwall... champagne....) off WTSMG every single night??

(probably)

I am the Walrus is stale too...

Bring back some b-sides from that era, and Be Here Now tunes.

New Oasis album to be released via 'Guitar Hero' video game. You can shred along with 'Dig Out Your Soul'

Oasis' new album 'Dig Out Your Soul' will be available as a download for the latest version of the 'Guitar Hero' video game, it was announced today (October 17).

The band's seventh album, which debuted at Number Five on the US Billboard chart this week, will be available via 'Guitar Hero World Tour in 2009.

In the meantime, an Oasis track pack featuring 'The Shock Of The Lighting', 'Bag It Up' and 'Waiting For The Rapture' can be downloaded beginning November 6 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

The tracks will also be made available as individually downloadable songs.
This is awesome and a great way to get my girl excited to see Oasis this December.

I never really got into Be Here Now. Maybe I should give it another chance. I usually listen to the first two and Heathen Chemistry.

it the same set not just one night to the next, but it's the same from tour to tour as well. there's X amount from ::insert latest Oasis album title here::, one cover (I Am The Walrus, Helter Skelter, My Generation), one unexpected song (The Masterplan, Shakermaker, something along those lines), then it's Wonderwall/Don't Look Back In Anger/Supersonic/Acquiesce/Morning Glory/Champagne Supernova/Live Forever/Rock N Roll Star/Cigarettes and Alcohol.

oh, and at the beginning of the tour they usually try out some old song that doesn't last more than a few shows. e.g. My Big Mouth on this tour, Headshrinker on the last tour.

fucking boring. but I still go. I wish Noel would bring back his acoustic mid-show sets. those were entirely unpredictable. and awesome.

they played it during the first few shows of the tour, but it got dropped. I'm predicting the same fate for my big mouth this tour.

I hate stadium shows, otherwise I would have gone.

I have floor tickets for their December 15th show anyway; in London, Ontario!

And I'm still waiting for them to reschedule the Eden Project gig...

Yea, the Oracle show should be fun as well. Although I'm not that excited to sit through Ryan Adams' country stylings.
