I know much has been said already and you can flame me to your hearts content, but Gorillaz were a serious letdown, and I say that as a fan of their music. The whole show was uncreative, very low key, and had no real feeling behind it. Simply playing in front of video screens showing animation, the Stylo video, and other stuff is hardly inspired. Especially after witnessing Atoms for Peace rip Coachella's heart out, Gorillaz felt like the biggest anticlimax ever. Even without the hype, I still think people would be disappointed.
Here's for getting a decidedly more established headliner to close the festival next year. Ending Coachella with a song like "Cloud of Unknowing" is wrong on so many levels. |

and what the hell kind of an ending was that? ....no "thank you coachella" nothing... people were standing around waiting for another song. It was not a good feeling to end the fest on. |

The gorillaz licked nuts and spat out ass hair. They only played for a fucking hour before their shit encore. They were the closing headliner! Play the night through, you fucks. Rest assured, I was so disappointed with their set up, nothing special but a bunch of people sitting and shitting on a stage. The music was good, but god dammit...god fucking dammit. So much for a wow performance. Oh and using music videos as the animation is the laziest fucking thing you could ever do for a show. No effort, just whatfuckingever

god you people are such light show monkeys. The Gorillaz were amazing. We got to see Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Damon Albarn rock on stage together and some how they managed to be disappointing?

I think people are just pissed off by the ending. It ended rather suddenly. I honestly think Damon was incredibly pissed with Bobby Womack and called the set short after that last song. I mean jesus the man was off on everything.
Other than the few mistakes I thought it was a great set with fantastic visuals.

It seemed a bit disrespectful. No acknowledgement at all. Just like, "F y'all, we're out". Many people were still standing there even after the stage lights went off because they refused to believe that that's how the show would actually end. |

granted the ending was a bit strange, but other than that it was stellar DARE or no Dare.

It wasn't stellar. It was boring. They put together a shitty setlist and they slept through the fucking performance.

Have these guys ever performed "live"? Maybe they just don't have any concept of stage presence, seeing as how they started off as a cartoon-only gig.

you should see the "Demon Days" live DVD... even though Damon was much more of a "frontman" at Coachella, the performance on the DVD is incredible...

Poor guy. To his defense, he's probably not used to crowds that size and performing with a cartoon/live/somethingorother band.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed Bobby W. was off of his fucking rocker the whole god damned time. Did anyone else noticed he had to be pulled off stage after Stylo?
And Rhinestone Eyes, the first note when the colored women were to sing "thats electrictrictrictric" they missed HORRIBLY. The 2nd time that part came up Damon straight up shouted those lyrics, as if it was a "FUCK YOU LADIES AND SING THIS SHIT NOW" So pissed I left Plastkiman man for this mess, but so happy I left early, if I heard them end on Cloud of Unknowing I would have taken a shit right on the grass. |

I'm on the other side here. I wasn't excited for gorillaz at all but ended up staying and thought they sounded pretty great. I guess you guys are just having issues with the visuals.. but if you could see the stage you could see damon gettin' down(at times) :]
I'm just trying to say I thought they brought it when it came to the music. |

Wow... can't believe all the hate: I thought the arrangements were brilliant, the song selections inspired, the vocals amazing, and the whole set one of the weekend's best...

First, the guests. We missed out on the Hypnotic Bass Ensemble, Mos Def, Kano & Bashy, and Shaun Ryder (if not more) because of the volcanic ash. The set would unquestionably have been better with those acts. And we probably would have heard Sweepstakes and DARE. Second, the visuals. Not sure what the fuck happened here. Really hope there's some sort of explanation. |

Yes bobby w. Did indeed Fuck up.. I know I was stoned but I bobby fucked up during stylo and another thing there was a long pause. after that song I could of sworn there was a camera shot of Damon walking away from the stage after stylo . And the during the next three songs after stylo I also felt like Damon was spazzing cause everything was falling apart. I swear that's what happen Damon was mad and acting weird for while but managed to keep it together. But Fuck no Dare? It's o.k. but did someone else feel like the show was falling apart ....oooooh wait no one mentioned. Little feather or watever she's called horrible voice ......bitch couldn't sing....eh let's discuss I'm still fucked up happy coachella.!!!
